Liza Auciello, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist in New York and California, She has over 25 years of experience working in the field of mental health. Liza received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hofstra University in New York and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP-LA) at Alliant International University.
Throughout her career, Dr. Auciello has worked with a diverse range of clients in various settings, including community mental health clinics, hospitals and private practice. Her private practice involves virtual therapy and in-person sessions at a ranch in Malibu. The ranch provides a natural setting for therapy as well as equine facilitated growth experiences. Dr. Auciello provides individual and couple’s therapy. She specializes in trauma, anxiety, pain and relationship challenges. She also helps people with life transitions and pet loss. Dr. Auciello is also a clinical health psychologist.
Dr. Auciello is known for her compassionate and collaborative approach to therapy, which emphasizes building a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment theory, positive psychology, mindfulness, somatically-oriented interventions and equine therapy. Additionally, Dr. Auciello practices EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Her couple’s work is influenced by Gottman methods.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Auciello is actively involved in helping mental health professionals to minimize the impact of vicarious trauma. Her company, Elevate You CE is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. She also helps people move through their leadership journeys, providing executive coaching and burnout prevention strategies.
