Liza Auciello, PsyD, is a licensed clinical health psychologist in New York and California with more than 25 years of experience in the field of mental health. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hofstra University in New York and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP-LA) at Alliant International University.
Throughout her career, Dr. Auciello has worked with a diverse range of clients in community mental health clinics, hospitals, and private practice settings. Her current practice includes virtual therapy as well as in-person sessions at a ranch in Malibu, where the natural setting supports healing and growth and offers opportunities for equine-facilitated experiences. Dr. Auciello provides individual and couples therapy for both neurodivergent and neurotypical clients. She specializes in trauma, anxiety, chronic pain, relationship challenges, life transitions, and pet loss.
Dr. Auciello is known for her compassionate, collaborative approach and her emphasis on building a strong therapeutic relationship. Her work is trauma-informed, neuroscience-informed, and relationship-centered, with Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) serving as the foundation of her approach. She helps clients process difficult experiences, heal limiting beliefs, and cultivate greater emotional resilience and self-understanding. To support each person’s unique needs, she integrates mindfulness, attachment theory, somatically oriented interventions, cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, and equine-assisted approaches.
Dr. Auciello has completed advanced training and certification in supporting neurodiverse individuals and couples in therapy. She brings a deep understanding of neurodiverse relationship dynamics and helps partners strengthen communication, emotional regulation, physical intimacy, and perspective-taking while developing practical strategies that foster greater understanding and connection.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Auciello is passionate about supporting the well-being of helping professionals. Through her company, Elevate You CE, which is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists, she provides education and consultation focused on reducing the impact of vicarious trauma and burnout. Drawing on her previous executive leadership experience, she also provides executive coaching and supports individuals as they navigate leadership development and career transitions.
