What are Psychological Assessments?

Psychological assessments are structured evaluations using standardized tests, clinical interviews, and behavioral observations to provide an in-depth understanding of a person’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. Unlike a brief clinical impression, a full psychological assessment produces a detailed, evidence-based picture that can guide treatment, support educational planning, and help individuals understand themselves more fully.

We conduct assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. Results are presented in a comprehensive written report with clear diagnoses, practical recommendations, and guidance for next steps — including school accommodations, treatment referrals, and strategies for home and work.

What We Help With

  • 1
    Clarify Diagnosis
Establish a clear, accurate diagnosis — distinguishing ADHD from anxiety, learning disabilities from processing differences, or autism from social anxiety.
  • 2
    Access School Accommodations
Provide the documentation schools and universities require for extended time, assistive technology, and other accommodations (IEP, 504 Plan).
  • 3
    Inform Treatment
Ensure therapy and medication decisions are based on accurate understanding of the underlying condition.
  • 4
    Understand Strengths & Challenges
Provide a nuanced profile of cognitive strengths alongside areas of difficulty — moving beyond a single label.
  • 5
    Support Workplace Accommodations
Provide documentation for workplace adjustments for adults with ADHD, learning disabilities, or mental health conditions.
  • 6
    Guide Educational Planning
Support gifted identification, school placement decisions, and learning program design.

The Assessment Process

A full psychological assessment typically involves 2–4 sessions of testing, a clinical interview, and review of prior records. We then produce a comprehensive written report and schedule a feedback session to walk you through the findings, answer your questions, and discuss next steps.

We work collaboratively with schools, teachers, pediatricians, and other professionals to ensure assessments are used effectively to support each individual.
