Dr. Kearney Visser, PhD is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Santa Monica native who has been helping children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families thrive for over 15 years. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego, where she also played collegiate volleyball, and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University in the Child and Family Track.

Dr. Visser specializes in evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming care and works with children, teens, young adults, adults, couples, and families facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, behavioral concerns, developmental differences, self-esteem and body image issues, disordered eating, life transitions, sports performance, and adjustment to divorce or changing family dynamics. She also has specialized experience working with neurodiverse couples and families.

Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, mindfulness-based interventions, play therapy, solution-focused therapy, and creative approaches including music, movement, and art therapy, Dr. Visser tailors treatment to each client’s unique strengths, needs, and way of experiencing the world. Her approach is collaborative, practical, and deeply compassionate, helping clients develop effective coping skills, regulate emotions, process difficult experiences, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Dr. Visser believes there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. She is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive environment where clients feel understood, empowered, and safe to be their authentic selves. When working with children and adolescents, she actively partners with parents and families, recognizing that meaningful growth often occurs when the entire family system is supported.
