When did you last set goals for yourself?
As children, visualizing our future is a natural and fun exercise. As kids, we visualize ourselves as firemen, teachers, artists, dancers, doctors. As adults with agency, we can set goals for not just our professions, we can plan vacations, take up hobbies, change our living environments, and learn new skills.
Setting goals and taking the gentle, sensible steps to reach that goal is one of the ways we can create an expansive life and learn who we really are. Noticing the distance between where you and and where you would like to be, do, or have can be overwhelming. Instead, by visualizing the end result and working backwards from there can create a real system that can help you reach your goal.
“You do not rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems.”-James Clear
