Everyone goes through periods where they feel bad. When people die, we grieve. When we are rejected or things don’t go our way, we can feel sad. Sometimes when we are ill we can also feel depressed. They are the right and natural feelings for those events. Labeling certain feelings as “bad” really means that we are labeling ourselves as “bad” for feeling them. With support and good mental hygiene, all challenging feelings eventually pass. Its not realistic to only feel the “good” emotions. The full human experience means accepting and feeling the full range of human emotions.
